We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Agribusiness Lending Manager to lead and grow a portfolio of agribusiness lending relationships. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on lending expertise, supporting both direct reports and traditional Financial Services Officers (FSOs) in managing complex, high-value agricultural accounts. The ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor to mega-producers and integrated operations, providing financial solutions that drive customer success and business growth.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and support a team of agribusiness lenders, assigning responsibilities and monitoring progress toward goals.
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure team members have the resources and authority needed to succeed.
- Communicate decisions and changes promptly and clearly.
- Collaborate with leadership to drive strategic initiatives and improve workflows.
Agribusiness Lending & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with large and expanding agribusiness clients.
- Serve as a financial partner to customers, helping optimize their business operations.
- Lead or support complex credit relationships, including structuring and monitoring risk.
- Develop and execute sales, marketing, and customer service plans.
- Maintain a prospect pipeline and commit to individual sales goals for credit and related services.
- Stay current on agricultural business practices, technologies, and industry trends.
- Act as a resource and mentor to regional lenders working on large agribusiness accounts.
- Represent the organization professionally in the local business community and industry associations.
- Collaborate with other Farm Credit System associations and external lenders to manage loan volume.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferred majors include Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Agricultural Business.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of lending experience.
- Familiarity with production agriculture, either through direct experience or a strong understanding of farming operations.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new processes and procedures.
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on team success.
- Creative problem-solving and strategic thinking to position products competitively.
- Deep understanding of agribusiness lending concepts and risk management.
