We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team in East Lansing, MI.  In this role, you will be an integral part of Greenstone’s Human Resources team assigned to a segment of the business.  The incumbent will provide human resources services to department leaders and employees to support their ability to provide excellent customer service, to maximize employee productivity and professional effectiveness, and to ensure a well-qualified workforce.

 

Location: East Lansing, MI. This position is a hybrid role that requires a minimum of 3 days in the office.  A schedule of expected onsite and remote workdays will be discussed during the interview process.

Day in the life of a HR Business Partner  

  • Work with and act as a resource for supervisors and employees in HR related matters.
  • Represent HR interests and perspectives in cross-functional meetings and projects.
  • Consult, answer questions, and consistently and equitably administer company policies and practices.
  • Manage conflict by using appropriate interpersonal styles to deal with others in a variety of situations to reduce tension or conflict.
  • Provide coaching, to help and develop supervisors to problem-solve, and facilitate the success of their employees.
  • Provide advanced project management skills that benefit and support the GreenStone employee experience.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and HR teammates to develop strategies that align with the business’s goals.
  • Evaluate, implement, and optimize HR technology solutions to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Provide guidance on legal matters such as discrimination, harassment, and employee privacy.

 

What Experience can you Bring?

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of related Human Resources experience.
  • Strong consulting, interpersonal, organizational and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to successfully lead and execute various projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in employment law and HR practices.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Passion to work effectively in a team environment.

 

What will set you Apart?

  • PHR/SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP.
  • Experience working in the financial services industry.
  • Experience working in a professional Human Resources role.
