Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Directs the activities and initiates actions of direct reports toward accomplishments of goals by clearly assigning responsibilities and tasks and establishing controls to monitor progress.
- Ensures direct reports have necessary resources and authority to effectively perform their job.
- Keeps direct reports informed of decisions, changes and relevant information on a timely basis.
- Coaches direct reports, provides performance feedback through continuous performance management program, makes salary and promotion recommendations, and facilitates their professional growth.
- Provides strategic direction on department initiatives driving consistency with core business plan.
- Engages regularly with leaders to address challenges and improve workflow.
Strategic Planning and Vision
- Develop and maintain ongoing technology plans for GreenStone and collaborations.
- Maintain and communicate a clear vision to prepare the collaboration to be competitive in future markets and environments.
Collaboration Development, and Relationships
- Act as a spokesperson for the Collaboration and foster mutually beneficial business relationships with Farm Credit Associations, System Banks, news media, and other organizations necessary for the success of the Collaboration.
- Develop, maintain and lead a department staffing structure which effectively develops, manages, sells, administers, and maintains technology products in a cost-effective manner for GreenStone, other partner Associations and Customers.
- Responsible for providing leadership oversight of technology vendor management.
Security/Support/Training
- Identify protection goals, objectives and metrics consistent with corporate strategic plan.
- Work with CISO and the other executives to prioritize security initiatives and spending based on appropriate risk management and/or financial methodology.
- Routinely report with the CISO to the board and/or a committee of the board on security issues and posture.
- Develop and maintain a system and staffing model to provide planning, support and control of systems and software.
Transition/Change Management
- Effectively manage through transitional issues with the management and staff of the association, collaboration partners and customers.
- Be an advocate for change by establishing a culture of continuous improvement, performance excellence and customer satisfaction.
Governance/Board Relationship
- Present solid philosophies and policies to effectively and properly direct the technology collaboration.
- Develop an effective communication plan that informs the Board of all significant developments and results.
- Develop and foster an effective working relationship with the Board while establishing distinctions between Board and Executive Director accountabilities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Administration, or related field required. MBA preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressively more complex experience in information services required. 5+ years of supervisory leadership experience required.
- Expertise: Deep knowledge of enterprise systems, cybersecurity, cloud computing, financial services operations, and regulatory compliance.
- Skills: Strategic thinking, exceptional communication, team leadership, and a strong understanding of emerging technologies.
