Key Responsibilities:

 

Leadership & Team Empowerment

•            Inspire and guide a team of data engineers toward ambitious goals

•            Build strong relationships, listen actively, and foster a collaborative team culture

•            Provide coaching, feedback, and career development support

•            Ensure your team has the tools, autonomy, and clarity to succeed

•            Collaborate with senior leaders to drive departmental strategy

Strategy & Planning

•            Represent BI in cross-functional initiatives

•            Define goals, KPIs, and SOPs for the data engineering function

•            Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements

•            Lead budgeting and business case development for data initiatives

•            Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data security standards

•            Understand both the technical and business drivers behind data needs

Data Architecture & Engineering

•            Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms

•            Oversee ETL development and data flow optimization

•            Evaluate new data sources and ensure governance alignment

•            Champion best practices in modeling, performance tuning, and integration

•            Stay ahead of emerging tech trends and share insights with the team

Quality, Governance & Reporting

•            Enforce standards for data accuracy, consistency, and performance

•            Guide the development of enterprise-level dashboards and reports

•            Lead stakeholder sessions to align BI solutions with business goals

•            Maintain top-tier documentation across all BI initiatives

 

Requirements:

 

•            Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Economics, Stats, or Business is required.

•            5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience is required.

•            1+ year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred

•            Deep expertise in BI platforms, ETL tools, cloud/on-prem data architecture

•            Strong understanding of data governance, compliance, and security

 

Skills & Competencies

•            MS SQL, Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services

•            Data warehousing and modeling best practices

•            MS Azure Data Platform, Databricks, and Python

•            Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value

•            Strong interpersonal skills and a team-first mindse
