We are excited for you to apply to our Credit Analyst position in Alma, Ann Arbor, East Lansing, or Sandusky, MI. Alma, MI is the preferred location, but others may be considered. This position will provide credit analysis expertise on medium to moderately larger loan requests to help ensure sound, comprehensive decisions are made in the credit approval process. The incumbent will prepare the financial analysis on larger, more complex requests.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Analyze moderately sized mortgage and commercial loan requests which fall outside of scorecard parameters in a detailed, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Analysis includes verifications of assets and liabilities, (credit bureau report, chattel and real estate searches, collateral evaluations), preparing income projections, trending financials and earnings information, compiling comparative data using similar farms and/or credit standards and ratio analysis.
  • Prepare loan narrative by preparing the capital, capacity, collateral, conditions sections; may also assist with the character section.
  • Assist with loan servicing and monitoring of specific loan covenants and borrowing base reporting requirements.
  • Assure the integrity of data in the customer relationship management system on loans in assigned portfolios by monitoring monthly internal exception reports.
  • Complete necessary government guaranteed loan reports and delinquency status reports as needed.
  • Prepare year-end requests of financial information for gathering such information and to prepare for the upcoming loan review/renewal season.

 

 

Position Requirements...

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Business Administration, Agricultural Business, Economics, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 1+ years in credit analysis/underwriting, financial services, or agricultural lending experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient in computer technology and Microsoft applications.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to successfully communicate both verbally and written.
  • Ability to quickly learn and effectively use new process and procedures to meet business initiatives.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
