Loan Accountant/Senior Loan Accountant

Join our team as a Loan Accountant where you will play a pivotal role in providing essential loan accounting support to our regional teams and serving as a resource for GreenStone’s loan accounting system. As a key resource, you'll provide invaluable support to our regions, guaranteeing accurate and timely processing of loan servicing transactions. You'll be at the forefront of maintaining the integrity of our loan accounting system, meticulously reviewing, and monitoring exception reports, and ensuring the accuracy of critical data fields, including interest rates.

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8am -4:30pm

Location: East Lansing, MI.

Day in the life of Loan Accountant/Senior Loan Accountant  

• Research and reconcile loan issues by communicating with both internal and external parties including correcting payment misapplications.
• Enter Loan addendum information in loan accounting system.
• Process Wire Transfers (in & out)
• Assist with the review of loan exception reports and follow up accordingly.
• Complete interest rate conversions.
• Process more complex loan modification documents.
• Set-up and process ACH customer requests.
• Receipt customer payments into receipts & disbursements software.
• Monitor construction loans interest only period in loan accounting system.
• Work with loan accounting team and key vendors to set up processes and DNA protocols for our conversion to DNA in spring 2025.

What Experience do you bring?

• HS Diploma or Equivalent required
• 3+ years’ experience in loan or financial accounting, loan/accounting operations, loan servicing environment or related business experience in the financial industry is required.
• Added Experience for Senior
  • 7+ years’ experience in loan or financial accounting, loan/accounting operations, loan servicing environment or related business experience in the financial industry is required.

What sets you Apart?

You will really stand out if you have the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Agribusiness or related major preferred
• Experience working with the Fiserv DNA loan accounting system in a loan origination or servicing capacity preferred.
